PULSR
- Country: France
- Client: Sensus France
- Collaboration: 2017 - 2019
Sensus France has identified a need to take pulse data from multiple water meters of its own manufacture and, after recalculation, make it available on a Modbus RTU network. The device must have four pulse inputs to allow reading from up to four water meters, according to Sensus’ HRI and HRI Mei interfaces.
The team implementing the solution was responsible for the design of the device, starting with the PCB and chassis schematic, the design of the device’s front end, programming the pulse counting algorithm, converting the data to appropriate values, configuring the pulse input groups’ operating modes, as well as full production documentation.
The team also ensured that the final product complied with the requirements of EMC directives and harmonized standards needed to sell the devices in the European Union. The team produced prototypes that allowed users to check the functional performance of the devices and were used for pre-certification testing. After passing EMC type testing, the team manufactured and delivered complete products to the customer.

A device dedicated to Sensus water meters has been created, allowing the counting of pulses from as many as four devices and sharing data over a Modbus RTU network. The device is compatible with Sensus’ HRI and HRI Mei interfaces. The device has battery protection that allows it to count pulses for up to 8h in the event of a power outage.
